Molarity + Dilution Calculator

Compute molarity (M), mass, volume, or moles and plan C1V1=C2V2 dilutions. Unit-aware, fast, and free.

Molarity

Molarity M = moles / volume (L). moles = mass / molar mass.

Tip: Use Molar Mass Calculator to find this.
Formula: M = (mass / MM) / volume(L)

What Is Molarity and Dilution?

Molarity (M) is moles of solute per liter of solution (mol/L). Dilution relates two concentrations and volumes by C1V1=C2V2.

Common Tasks
  • Make 1 L of 1 M NaCl: mass = 1 mol × 58.44 g/mol = 58.44 g
  • Dilute 10 mL of 1 M stock to 0.1 M: V2 = (C1·V1)/C2 = (1×10)/0.1 = 100 mL
