By following topics, authors, and publications that match your interests, you will receive better story recommendations on your homepage.
- Click on your avatar in the top-right corner of the page.
- Click Customize your interests.
- Go to the You tab.
- Tap Customize your interests.
- Open the drawer menu from the app homepage.
- Tap Interests.
From that page, you can follow new suggested authors and publications, or you can customize your existing follows.
Following specific authors and publications
Medium also lets you follow specific authors and publications. Once you follow an author of a publication, stories published by them will show up on your homepage and in your email digests.

- Go to the profile page of the user you wish to follow.
- Click Follow.

- Click Follow.
