The elections concluded on 20 April. The challenge period (for appeals) was opened on 25 April and closed on 2 May at 15:00 UTC. No challenges were filed.
[Washington, D.C.] The Internet Society today announced that it has appointed Mark Buell to the role of Regional Bureau Director for North America. In this role starting May 2, he will be responsible for building awareness of the Internet Society and advancing its mission of promoting an open, secure Internet for the benefit of all people.
Washington, DC- The Internet Society today announced that Tosca Bruno-van Vijfeijken and Lise Fuhr have been appointed to the Public Interest Registry (PIR) Board of Directors. They will both serve three year terms, as will Roberto Gaetano who has been reappointed. These appointments will begin at the mid-year PIR Board meeting scheduled for July 2016.
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania - The Internet Society will bring its annual Africa Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) to Tanzania for the first time. The organisation has partnered with the Tanzania Internet Service Providers Association (TISPA) to hold the seventh annual AfPIF in the country’s capital, Dar es Salaam, 30 August- 1 September, 2016.
