Welcome to the website of the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN) – an organization composed of consumer protection authorities from over 50 countries, whose aim is to:

  • Protect consumers’ economic interests around the world,
  • Share information about cross-border commercial activities that may affect consumer welfare,
  • Encourage global cooperation among law enforcement agencies.

  • The Netherlands - Consumers are reimbursed for 'free' samples after ACM intervention

    Consumers that filed complaints because they had to pay for a ‘free’ sample, will get their money back. RCM Cosmetics (RCMC) promised this to the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) after ACM had launched an investigation.
  • Australia - Court finds Nurofen made misleading Specific Pain claims

    In proceedings commenced by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the Federal Court has found that Reckitt Benckiser (Australia) Pty Ltd (Reckitt Benckiser) engaged in misleading conduct in contravention of the Australian Consumer Law by representing that its Nurofen Specific Pain products were each formulated to treat a specific type of pain, when the products are identical.
