Data Sets
iPlane traceroute Dataset
This dataset contains traceroutes from PlanetLab nodes and traceroute servers that are done as part of the iPlane project at the University of Washington. This data starts 2006-06-23 and is updated daily. The data hosted on the Data Repository is a copy of the original data that is hosted at the University of Washington, but the historical logs are remastered so they contain only a single tarball per day. Additional data gathered by iPlane such as link latency and loss measurements as well as processed versions of the traceroutes are available at http://iplane.cs.washington.edu
NLANR AMP Data
This data is a set of active measurements (ping/traceroute) collected by the NLANR research group. The data consists of measurements in a mesh of up to 130 vantage points and the measurements ran between 1998 and 2006. This data is useful for longitudinal study of the Internet. The data available from the RIPE Data Repository is a remastered version of the original data that was available from the NLANR website.
Routing Information Service (RIS) Raw Dataset
The Routing Information Service (RIS) is a RIPE NCC project to collect and store Internet routing data. Both BGP updates and RIB dumps are collected and stored. The data is then made available to the Internet community for troubleshooting and research.
The Waikato Internet Traffic Storage (WITS) Passive Datasets
This data is a mirror of the passive (i.e. traffic trace) datasets stored at the WITS archive that is maintained by the WAND research group. Because bandwidth is expensive in New Zealand it is very beneficial for the WAND research group to have this data hosted elsewhere.
Reverse DNS Delegations
This dataset consists of a daily snapshot of the reverse zones (in-addr.arpa and ip6.arpa) as published by the RIRs on their public FTP servers in the /pub/zones/ directory. The RIRs use this data operationally. The zones under in-addr.arpa and ip6.arpa are assembled from these files.
NLANR PMA Data
This dataset consists of passive (i.e. traffic trace) datasets collected and stored by the former NLANR research group. This data is part of the WITS archive and is unique because it contains a lot of historic traffic trace data from a period for which little other trace data is still preserved. The data goes back as far as 1993.
IPv6 Web Statistics
This data set consists of information on the fraction of IPv6 in hits and unique source IPs to www.ripe.net. This data was updated weekly between April 2008 and December 2010 and can be used as an indicator to track IPv6 deployment in this period.
RIPE NCC Active Measurements Of World IPv6 Day Dataset
As part of our Data Repository we released a new dataset. This dataset contains DNS lookups (A+AAAA), ping/ping6, traceroute/traceroute6 and HTTP fetches (IPv4/IPv6) from 40 vantage points (TTM, CAIDA Ark, and others), to 53 web sites involved in World IPv6 Day. The data covers the period from 2011-06-01T00:00 to 2011-06-13T00:00 UTC.
RIPE NCC Active Measurements of World IPv6 Launch Dataset
As part of our Data Repository, the RIPE NCC has released a new dataset. This dataset contains DNS lookups (A+AAAA), ping/ping6, traceroute/traceroute6 and HTTP fetches (IPv4/IPv6) from 53 vantage points (TTM, CAIDA Ark and others) to 60 websites involved in World IPv6 Launch. The data covers the period from 2012-05-19T00:00 to 2012-06-18T00:00 (UTC).
