My Twitter account keeps on getting hacked, and I'm pretty sure it's one of my friends who I went on twitter on their- mobile, computer and left it on. And they keep doing it, even though I've changed my password several times... and deleted the tweets they have composed. They continue to do it, I don't know how to sort out. Is it possible there is a resolution? Thanks.

Whether the problem is solved by a password change or not, I don't know. If the so-called "hackers" have access to your password, then it will certainly help assuming that you change it to a password they do not know.
If they are sending DMs on your behalf through an API-based application, revoking their access through https://twitter.com/settings/applications will help you resolve the issue.
I got hacked , the hacker changed everything on my account. Luckly I got to change the email & the password again , but they changed my username , and now it says somebody else has it. Is there any way to get my old username back? I really need help!

No one hack your account. You are far too insignificant for such an effort. If one want to spam a serious mass, he/she would go after an account that has few hundred thousand or above million followers.
You did it to your self. I'm ore than sure that you sign into a website using twitter account, or while installing an app, you gave that app permission to access twitter. That's the only way to get spam coming out of your account, with consent, and through carelessness.
NOTE to whoever came here searching for solution.
Check your Twitter account and permission given to any apps. DO NOT use your twitter account to sing into websites of forums. Don't be lazy, open a new account. As for the spam problem, log out the app on your mobile, change password on your website account, and log in back with new credentials.
i got this reply from twitter about my hacked account after support ticket :

Here's the problem with that.
1. I haven't logged into my twitter account directly in several months.
2. Haven't logged into any other website using twitter credentials ever.
3. I don't share the same username/password combo with any other websites, or link any other website identity to my twitter account.
4. The only app I've ever granted permission to is twitpics.
5. Not using a password that can be guessed (nonsense word, mixed case, punctuation etc)
Yet 2 weeks ago someone else gained access to my twitter account, granted privs to a new app, added 2000 Following and started posting wholesale spam. Twitter offers no mechanism to report the problem and simply tells me to change my password and delete the tweets and I'm done. It'd sure be nice to know how that user got in. I'd think Twitter might want to know too, but clearly they think themselves being hacked is out of the question.
My original account - @SwayamDas2010 is hacked.. The hacker changed the email address on 10th August 2012. I can't even reset the password :( Updated Twitter Team with the details using that hacked account application form but no response from them! Can somebody help me get my account back??
My twitter account, originally called @KameronBennett w/ over 115k+ followers was hacked by someone impersonating a twitter administrator... They changed the email, password and username so I have no access. They changed the account name to @CNN_UPDATES_6 and had been spamming users using my account ever. All my recent pictures still show as well as my old tweets and retweets. It's obvious it's my account, and I have evidence/screenshots to prove it.... What can I do??? I have been on twitter since 2007 and haven't got a response from twitter support. I'm also a translator with a translator badge who helped to translate the site. yeh me too, just noticed the tweets appearing as I was logged in. changed password , deleted offending tweets and blocked all apps so hoping this will go away. But why didnt it show which app had posted this crap on my behalf?
I believe Twitter's network has been compromised.
I received similar DMs from another person's hacked acount. I traced the originating Ips of the DM and they pointed to Twitter. http://www.ipchecking.com/?ip=199.59.148.231&check=Lookup
Also the RBL status shows it has sent out previous attacks in the past

I got hacked today. It was weird. Started off with tweets about looseing body fat. Till sending messages to my followers, so that they can get hacked too. I really hate hackers. There a pain. I wish the would just go. I can't even access my twitter. It took me forever to get to 50 followers. Now I am waiting for twitter to respond to my emails.
I dont know if hacked is what is happening to me but it sounds like some of the things Ive read here. Everyday, a tweet appears with my username and an advertisement about loosing body fat in 2 weeks. Then theres a link that takes you to an elaborate advertisement that demonstrates what the product does. Then in yellow highlight is a way to order this product. Its not my advertisment and I am certainly not getting paid for using my name. I got in touch with Twitter but they wanted me to give them an arm and a leg to process my complaint. I deleted this tweet many times. I went in to my account and changed somethings. I blocked some followers because they seem to only be concerned with selling stuff for which is not my bag. So figured I could be vunerable to business persons possible hacking ways. Well I m lost and need some help about this or I guess I may get rid of my account altogether! Can someone help me!
Same here, I've changed passwords multiple times revoked all third party access etc etc etc etc and still it gets hacked about every two weeks, now it's sending porn sites out to 13 year olds this is ridiculous and seeing from what I read on the internet a lot of people are having the same issue and twitter offers no secure solution. No response or help from twitter. My only option left is to not use twitter ever again, I can't take that risk anymore and I recommend all my friends do the same, it is just entirely too unsecure.
