This is a follow-up thread to Twitter Cards: questions, bugs, problems, comments....
That previous discussion became a bit overwhelming to follow-up and reply to with so many sub-threads.
A few simple rules to get help here, please follow these simple steps to help us help you.
- Make sure you reviewed the documentation - Twitter Cards
- Once the markup is implemented on your pages, test it with the preview tool - https://dev.twitter.com/docs/cards/preview
- When your code is known to work, apply to be whitelisted - https://dev.twitter.com/form/participate-twitter-cards. It can take 5 to 10 days to be reviewed (and approved if your implementation is technically correct). Add another 5 to 10 days more for player cards.
- Then, post a link here to a specific tweet where Twitter Cards should work.
We can not help you if you do not go thru all the steps in this process.

https://twitter.com/themoviehunger/status/273135767142952961 here's a post that is having a problem. My site ( http://www.moviehunger.com/ ) had been approved last week and i don't see twitter card working. Same as Photo card.
I just checked, I saw you had applied for both moviehunger.com and www.moviehunger.com and the second one was not approved (yet). Works now.
This is a common problem, if you are serving both from domain.com and www.domain.com, I suggest applying for *.domain.com to make sure you have all you bases covered.
My photo cards are showing up as summary cards:
https://twitter.com/JohnJonesz/status/273116889448849408
This should be a photo but is showing up as a summary... view the meta data of the url which is:
http://c0smo.com/a/429
In the preview tool and on twitter it shows up as a summary card. When I take just the meta data and plug it into the preview tool, it shows up correctly.
What meta data are you pasting in? I just tried with
And it wouldn't even render (that's weird).
I made a change so that it renders with meta tags (I think it had something to do with the length of the description, anyway, could be another issue that I don't mind fighting another time, but please take a look now as this meta will render properly but the URL still shows up as a summary. (Note other URLs did not have the same problem you just had, but in fact had the summyar/photo problem)
I know it's last minute, but it should be a real hoot! Come one come all. I hear she makes a mean pumpkin pie. This was a problem on our end and is now working as expected. Thanks!
Hi, I've got my website whitelisted last evening: summary and player both work perfectly, however the photo card doesn't.
If I test with the dev tool it's working, here the metadata
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@rentonsroom"><meta name="twitter:site:id" content="96623060"><meta name="twitter:creator" content="@rentonsroom"><meta name="twitter:creator:id" content="96623060"><meta name="twitter:url" content="http://rentonsroom.co.uk/logan-hicks-structural-integrity-pictures/1024?img=1024"><meta name="twitter:card" content="photo"><meta name="twitter:title" content="Picture from the gallery 'Picture from the gallery 'Logan Hicks – Structural Integrity, the pictures''"><meta name="twitter:image" content="http://rentonsroom.co.uk/wp-content/gallery/logan-hicks-structural-integrity/logan-hicks-structural-integrity-1.jpg"><meta name="twitter:image:width" content="955"><meta name="twitter:image:height" content="700">but if you look at the test it doesn't https://twitter.com/TestEmanuele/status/277355037133533184
Thanks in advance
This works in the preview tool, so it might have been a problem with fetching the image from your server when you tweeted. Try retweeting a another short link (bit.ly, goo.gl, etc) to your page, it should fix the problem.
I'm having the same issue, our site is approved "http://www.apple-wd.com" but still no cards support!
One of the tweet examples here: http://twitter.com/Applewd/status/273073958406987777
Can you help please?
I just checked, I saw you had applied for apple-wd.com (and not for sub domains, like www.apple-we.com). I just fixed this for you.
This is a common problem, if you are serving both from domain.com and www.domain.com, I suggest applying for *.domain.com to make sure you have all you bases covered.
Thanks a lot for your help!
It's working now
Hi Sylvain,
In the Preview Tool, I get what appears to be a broken image. Do you know why this is happening? Here is my code:
This might be an error with our image proxy, are you seeing success with other images?
Hi Sylvain,
I have tried other images unsuccessfully. If you have a specific image that works, let me know and I put that one on our servers. Our weblogs always show two web requests for that image from Twitterbot: A HTTP 200 followed by an HTTP 406.
406 errors are known (and in the process of being fixed). See https://dev.twitter.com/discussions/10926.
Found 2 problems.
When your robots.txt error is fixed, re-apply for hurriyet.com.tr at https://dev.twitter.com/form/participate-twitter-cards and we will review and approve your submission.
Hi Sylvain,
We made changes that you adviced. Now when i try to see preview it gives "Looks like you didn't provide a fully-qualified URL." error.
We submitted "hurriyet.com.tr" and "www.hurriyet.com.tr" again.
I hope you will approve it soon. Twitter cards is an importent feature for us.
Thanks for your help.
I approved it this morning, you are good to go.
Thank you very much!
Hi Sylvain,
Our submission has approved couple of weeks ago, i see everything is ok on preview tool but still can't see on twitter post. Can you help please?

Our twitter account; https://twitter.com/hurriyet
and meta's
@froginthevalley, @Chirpify is already approved and has been using Twitter Photo cards for months. If we want to use Player Cards is it a matter of just updating the meta or do we need additional approval for that?
Noticed that the preview tool shows Player card when testing.
Thanks.
I believe you need additional approval. What does your original email say? I remember mine stating that I was only approved for summary and photo cards.
Thanks @C_SM_. @froginthevalley, can you clarify and let us know next steps?
You need to re-apply for player cards with sample markup. Expect 10-15 days before review/approval for media player cards. If you are doing something else than displaying an image or playing an audio/video file/stream, we might reject your application.
Hi Sylvain
My site supports both http and https. And I have already approved for use twitter card. But it only works on http protocol. Do twitter cards supports https protocol url. If yes, hot active it. Do I need to resend participate form again?
We support both and it makes no difference for summary and photo cards. Player cards need to be https, see Twitter Player Cards and HTTPS.
Hi Sylvain
I have tried both, but it only works on http link:
Hi Sylvain,
1 month ago we resubmitted @ZoopShop application for Twitter Player Card after correcting email-notified errors, but have not heard back.
The preview tool shows our Player Card working perfectly. We just re-submitted our application again last week. Can we expect notification regarding our application status within 20 days?
Thanks!
Yes, we will review it, but if you are doing something else than displaying an image or playing an audio/video file/stream, we might not approve your application before a while (a few months).
Appreciate the information. Is there any BD/Partnership folks we could get in touch with to expedite this process? Thanks!
It's more related to platform that partnership, not really anything we can do short term.
Greetings from http://tjournal.ru, Sylvain.
We have an approved domain. Our cards for video work fine in preview tool and don't work on the web.
Here's an example of media: http://tjournal.ru/video/36226-Vera-Polozkova--CMEX-Vechernii-YRGANT-ot-30-10-3012
When the card is generated, it looks like this: http://tjournal.ru/video/36125-Bynt-v-kolonii-Kopeiska
See, video is not available for playing, though in preview tool everything seems to be OK.
Your domain had not been approved for video (player) cards. I just reviewed and approved it.
Oh. Thanks a lot then!
Hello,
my submission has been approved last week but I didn't enter correctly the "Twitter Username associated with that domain". I did it with my twitter account when I should have used another one. How do I go about changing that ?
Thanks :)
You can either re-submit or just make sure you always include a twitter:site tag with the correct @username. The @username you submit intially is the value by default if no twitter:site tag is present when we crawl your page.
ok thanks Sylvain!
I'll do this.
Hello from punsr.com and dicciochimbo.com,

I opened a ticket with our platform team for this one, waiting on triage and resolution, might take a few weeks.
Hello,
Any page to request urgent cache clear ?
This is for a live event that begin in 14 hours.
Thanks
We cache files (including robots.txt and images) for 24 hours. Try again after that delay, retweeting a link to another page with cards markup (or the same page using a link shortener) is a good trigger for recrawl.
