Widget not whitelisted for this domain

sunarcseo
@sunarcseo Jaya Joshi

I have created a widget for my website. But instead of tweets it only shows a link for my twitter account.
I noticed a warning in error log that 'Widget not whitelisted for this domain' at 'http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js'.
Any Help?

When you created your widget, did you provide the domain name it appears on to the configurator field called "Domains"? Verify that what you've provided there matches the site you're viewing the widget on.

Yes I have provided domain names and they are exactly same as my domain name. Also, I have included domain name with and with 'www'.

Hi I am having trouble with the apperance of my widget. In my wordpress blog the widget appears more like a link you can view it at www.LilRedzReboundz.com. It does not show up as it is supposed to in the preview. I have tried to disable plugin's to see if that was the problem but it wasn't and than I posted the HTML in a post too see if it was the sidebar but it still appeared the same? I am using ifeature template in wordpress... Has anyone else seen this problem?

I had the same problem, but i solved by adding in the domain field, both domains, ex. "domain.com, www.domain.com" (separated by comma). Works fine.

Patricio, adding the domain 2 ways, with and without the www. separated by a comma... did not work. I still have just a link; no streaming widgets. Is Twitter working on this? Its so basic... why is this not working?

Can you provide a link to the site where it is not working? It is really hard to help you without any details...

One quick one to check for the most common problem (domain whitelisting not configured correctly) is to check your javascript console. Error messages are logged there.

And how do we do check the Java console? I use WIX, an online editor to build my website. I don't know anything about programming or Java consoles...

I have this same problem than the rest of the people here. Created my widget, saved it correctly and got the code and the preview. Saved both with and without the www.

This is my website: www.isaac-gracia.com

I realized that when you ask for domains at the witdget box every single time I type a / or : gives me an error.

Help please!

Seems impossible to update widget domains whitelist with yourapp.dev style domains (used by pow.cx) . Work around using yourapp.127.0.0.1.xip.io
See : http://pow.cx/manual.html#section_2.1.5

Same problem on our website. On the bottom right hand section of the page that is blank is where the widget is supposed to appear (The background of our website is white as well as the link being left behind by the widget so unless you know the link is there you can't even see it). We are getting the "domain whitelisting not configured correctly" error in the Javascript console, how do we fix this?
Site is http://www.ridgemontsouth.com/

or if you want to add both then first add domain with "www" and then without "www" with comma seperated.

In the current situation (still using the old timeline widgets) our users can add widgets by simply providing their Twitter handle.

In the new situation the user experience gets messy as people need to go create a widget on Twitter, add our domain in there and give us back the complete HTML code. Our users should be able to add their Twitter timeline to their pages on our platform by simply providing their Twitter handle or by connecting with oAuth.

How can we make sure we keep a clean user experience?

We hear you. We are working on a widget/timeline API. I don't have a specific date for you but it is something we intend shipping as part of this product.

a little verbiage on the widget creation page would be nice but i was able to figure it out after a few hours of trying different things.

when adding domains you need to, as mentioned above, add 2 entries for each domain and subdomain - 1 with www and 1 without.

Where i got stuck was putting spaces after the comma seperation - don't use any spaces and you should be good to go.

example

domain.com,www.domain.com,sub.domain.com,www.sub.domain.com

Except that when i save it without the spaces, as @jtrzeff suggests, the page puts them right back.

Hello,
When I created my widget there was no place to add the domain names. Here is a screen shot https://twitter.com/jenntakos/status/320981088359022596/photo/1
Did I miss something? Are the domain names added in a different place?

@episod Taylor Singletary

The specifying domains aspect of the Embedded Timelines is no longer relevant -- you don't need to pre-register your domains any more. If you're having issues with getting the timeline to render, it's likely due to some other reason.
