Use this thread to post your questions about our newly announced product: embedded timelines.
Before asking a question, see: Embedded Timelines Most Frequent Problems (and their solution) and search this forum, the answer is most likely already there.
If you only see "tweets by @username" you have a problem with your domain configuration, make sure your timeline is configured with the exact domain at https://twitter.com/settings/widgets.
For complete reference, see embedded timelines documentation.

Any ideas on how to get this to work in a WordPress site?
Also struggling with WordPress, have added to both sidebar and individual posts with only the link appearing rather than the full widget. any help much appreciated!
The Twitter API has been recently updated and this started to affect some of our WordPress websites that use the GoodLayers Twitter Widget. It seemed to be affecting other twitter widgets as well.
If you find the feed isn't working, hopefully this will help:

I have a wordpress blog with hyphens in the domain - this domain won't save in the widget creator.
I also have a wordpress blog with no hyphens - digitalmediamionkey.co.uk - can't get the widget to appear on this site. Thanks!
It seems to work on http://digitalmediamonkey.co.uk/ but not on http://www.digitalmediamonkey.co.uk/
Make sure you have both domains listed in your configuration: digitalmediamonkey.co.uk, www.digitalmediamonkey.co.uk
Hi I can't seem to get a widget working on our site?
www.chairsgb.com
Ideally wanted it in the sidebar
Looks good to me.
did you just use the wordpress html widget? it seems your feed is showing up but my code matches yours and mine still won't render. hmm?
Any chance to get this widget work with dynamic search terms? Not only what you configure in Widgets area of settings? Something like this:
http://hashtag.rs/1/novo2.php
If you are hosting your own wordpress.org blog, the easiest way is to add a text widget to your sidebar (in Appereance » Widgets) and paste the widget code you get from https://twitter.com/settings/widgets/
I can't seem to get my twitter feed on my MUSE website, when I cut and paste the code that I get from the twitter widget page it only says "tweets by @mcclintockDerek but it doesn't give the last couple of tweets that I have mentioned or have mentioned about me. Is there a place where I can just copy a standard code for entering the twitter feed and all I have to do is switch the account name to mine? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance
Hi, Did you get a fix?
0
es muy bueno esto para verificar tu cuenta en twitter
Having the same problem at daveparks.ca/gta
See https://dev.twitter.com/docs/embedded-timelines-most-frequent-problems-and-their-solution this is most likely related to your domain name configuration for the widget.
I've done this but the code does not generate the activity feed. it only says "tweets by WorcesterState.
My domain is wordpress.worcester.edu
I have listed all multiple verisons of that and without the host header
Help?
Hi Steven,
Did you get a fix for this? I'm suffering the same fate.
Kind regards,
Mike
See https://dev.twitter.com/docs/embedded-timelines-most-frequent-problems-and-their-solution this is most likely related to your domain name configuration for the widget.
Hi Sylvain
am having the same problem here, only the link appears
the website url is http://www.hemmah.net/
Kindly advice
I have the same problem, only says tweets by @betogess
Como fazer isso?
sorry, that doesn't work either.
Doesn't work. Wordpress say that it is a Twitter issue, could you please figure out an answer?
Sylvain, I'm trying to get this timeline to work in a Wikidot site at www.aneveu.com. If you have any advice on this issue, please forward it to me. Thanks.
Same here. I have a blog and any widget seems to be working.
If i get the HTML widget via Twitter. Where do I put it, on my HTML blog? Have no idea!!!
See Embedded Timelines Most Frequent Problems (and their solution).
I'm trying to get the code right but where I have to write de domains its saves it wrong.
My domain is blog.planeta-beisbol.com but when I save the widget it reads blog.planeta only, not the rest.
Now it reads "Unable to update your widget, please check your inputs." while saving the widget.
Any ideas?
Thanks
We currently have a client-side javascript bug with dashes in domain names. We are working on a fix.
Not to be a pain, any idea of an ETA? (days, weeks? I am trying to get a website off the ground) Thanks in advance, even if you are unsure! Chris
That completely kills use of the facility on my domain name.
hello
This must be why i can't get it to work on my company site www.gmpcs-us.com I hope it's fixed soon.
This will be fixed in a few days maximum, it's a critical bug, agreed.
Thanks for the reply! I am glad to see the Twitter team works on these issues that arise. Thanks again!! - Chris
Okay, that would be great.
Please give us a feedback.
This is fixed now you can user "-" in domains and subdomains. We also support *.domain.com for multiple subdomains.
this-new-domain.com and *.allthesesubdomains.com will work.
Is there also an issue with slashes in the URL name? I'm trying to add the following as my domain and it's throwing an error:
www.wmur.com/politicalscoop
Thanks!
-Robyn
just use the main domain www.wmur.com
I have tried embedding the widget html code into my website home page (www.burbage-village.org.uk) and all I get is a link which takes the visitor to my Twitter page - the link says Tweets by @Burbage_News. It is not the display I had hoped for. Can you help, please?

I have read the Embedded Timelines Most Frequent Problems (and their solution). I am now able to paste the code into a sidebar widget and have the feed appear...however I am interested in having it appear in places other then the sidebar. When I do this the only thing that appears is a link to the tweets. Help please.
Thanks for putting in these changes.
Since this thread is the only documentation I've found on how to support multiple domains, I'd recommend putting this into your developer docs for embedded timelines: https://dev.twitter.com/docs/embedded-timelines
I think some people will assume that putting in 'example.com' in your domain section will work for the site 'blog.example.com', when in fact you need '*.example.com'. Just a mistake that I made initially until I found this thread.
Cheers.
I also found it necessary to add "yourdomain.com" without the "." for any visitors accessing your site without "www." preceding your domain name. As in: "http://yourdomain.com". So you may need to have, ".yourdomain.com, yourdomain.com, ..."
Thanks.
Hello,
I'm receiving the error message discussed here, "Unable to save your widget, please check your inputs." and I am trying to place the widget on a URL with a dash in it, yet according to these posts this problem's already been fixed. Is there another reason I'm getting this message?
Thanks,
Candice
Hi, on the twitter 'Embedded Timelines' tutorial it states I can use 'localhost' as a domain to test locally, however, this also gives me the "Unable to update your widget, please check your inputs." error.
I am separating the domain names with a comma as per the default values show.
Can you please check this 'localhost' feature is working correctly or is it something I am doing wrong at my end?
Many thanks
You should list your public domain in the settings and omit listing localhost there (as it is supported by default).
Thanks! noob mistake from my part. Wasn't testing it properly.
