Welcome to Source v. 0.1
What's new?
You have two new tabs in your Twitter Console. The Code tab provides code that you can use to make authenticated calls to the Twitter API (Apigee mediates the authentication). The Preview tab shows how the response data can be rendered out in easy-to-edit HTML and CSS.
Using Source
We've started you off with a request so you can see Source working. Any time you make a valid, authenticated Twitter request, you'll be able to copy-and-paste the JavaScript code used to call that API. Open Code or Preview up in a new window and use built-in browser-based tools to quickly prototype a single-user Twitter application.
How Source works
Apigee Source generates JavaScript, CSS, and HTML every time you make a valid request. Since you've authenticated with Twitter through the Console, Apigee will use your credentials to sign all requests you make through Apigee.
Why Apigee Source?
APIs are awesome - but the API frontier is a bit like the wild west. Just learning how to use OAuth can be daunting. Our mission is to open up the world of APIs to web developers who might be put off by the complexity of authenticating with different APIs. Apigee Source is a tiny step in this direction, but we have big plans!
Thanks for your patience, and your feedback!
This is a very early Alpha. We plan to evolve source quickly, so expect things to change or even break. We hope you'll be patient with us and share your thoughts!
Thanks a bunch
- The Apigee team.
