As reported:
The button is gray but retweets still show up in my timeline. It seems to ignore any attempt to change it. If I click to turn it green, when I reload the page it will be grayed out again, but I still receive retweets. I don't want any retweets and am attempting to disable them.

This wide-spread bug will represent itself in a few ways at the moment. In particular you may find:
* Changing the "wants retweets" setting with POST friendships/update will not function as expected, and alterations may not be saved or recognized.
* Retweets will show in REST-based timelines regardless of the settings a user may have configured.
* The UI on twitter.com may not report the "wants retweets" settings correctly.
