Is anyone notcing intermittent and minor graphical corruption on the PowerMac 6100?
I am having trouble establishing a baseline for the behavior. I have seen it in System 7.1.2 and 7.5.5 whether in 256 or thousands of colors.
I noticed red bands showing up in the help screen of Microsoft Word 5.1a.
I also saw intermittent blotches of discoloration (usually black) showing up on the desktop pattern, sometimes disappearing when moving the mouse cursor around, sometimes not. Upon subsequent launches it may not occur at all.
Another test within two games, Day of the Tentacle and Full Throtle, saw similar blotches of random colors within the games. Weirdly, turning off the EPX graphic smoothing in those games seems to resolve the issue. Older games using EPX like Monkey Isand 2 are unaffected.
