There is a mesmerizing flow to the demo, both due to the rhythmic beat of the music, the somewhat abstract narrative that still gets a message through, the unusual color choices, and the awesome effects. Getting a demo to flow effortlessly isn’t easy. A lot of testing, testing, testing and reworking of the code is needed to nail it at the level that this demo does it.

There a few too may (intentional) glitches for my taste, but that's just my personal preference.

In terms of the code, there are several parallax effects that look really good - my personal fave is the side scrolling one. But if i had to pick one effect, I would say that the massive wobbly upscrolling sprite stretcher with the skulls would be the one - wow! (Really cool how the background isn't actually moving - only the colors do - but it really feels like both the sprite layer and the background are moving!)

I just wanted to say thanks to Elder001 for his comment about the journey to make this demo happen.

Sceners usually make it seem they started 3 weeks before a party and that's that. Thanks for letting us know we are not the only ones for who it takes a lot of time.

@wacek: yes, I can confirm that the youtube video you mentioned has some bad capture glitches not present in the actual demo! My bad anyway: I linked it in the release page without carefully checking it before, so thank you for letting us know :)

@Elder0010 @hedning yeah, you guys are probably right, the first time I watched it was at work ;) so I checked it quickly on youtube here > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEcMf5Rfm8E and there are glitches at 1:04, 7:54, but then I tested it on vice and could not replicate them. So it's a glitchy recording apparently? I stand corrected, apologies for the confusion.

this is excellent technique - top tier graphics, music, code. absolutely nothing to complain about. however i watched it thrice and still can't call it memorable. (my) age, i guess.

Just when you think you’ve seen and heard it all, you guys come up with this. Fucking awesome! The second part completely blew me away. This is great.

wacek: As Elder pointed out: It's probably just a not optimal emulation/recording of emulation you watched. Newer Vice versions can be real CPU gobblers these days. On the real machine I could not hear any strange lags/glitches in the sound at all.

@wacek: thank you for your comment, I appreciate your feedback! At which timecode (moreless) you hear the audio glitches? Did you run the demo on real hw, or can you tell me which emu/version you used so I can check? Just out of my curiosity!

Nice and stylish, I do appreciate great soundtrack and design ideas. If there would be something to complain, I'd like more effects in the sense of effects (if you know what I mean), and there were one or two places where the music was glitching due to switching between parts, that is always something that I unfortunately am quite sensitive to as an ex-musician ;) But great effort, small teams rule! That floor scroller was absolutely dope. @digger I don't know if you're satisfied... ;)

WOW!! this was really nice!

For my teammate Psych:
You always deliver a tune that sticks in my head, an amazing
tune, and I am a bit jealous here ;)

Sulevi: your art work! its different its wonder(full) it made me go WOOooz.

Elder WTF... you are now officially on my map! you should have been already at No Bounds but now make no mistake! you are there now!

There are three parts that stood out for me,
1. Skulles in a glass (visor) and then the visor is also doing a tech tech...
(prolly the skull was sprites) and then there was additional layer chars with raster coloring.. Really cool FX.. it coincides with my area of interest ;)
2. Perspective field scroller and a scrolling wall... looks super smooth. very nice touch with the ending of it, cut off with some bar sticking out..
3. Paralaxing city scape. little bit like Shapes Disco Apocalypso but much more colorfull here and really a fitting scenario...

besides that the demo was surpricingly well made!
I loved this demo, it will definitely go on repeat!
and that only 3 of you did the demo, well deserved and congratulations to you all.

@Digger: thank you for your kind comment :) I have been around for 15 years moreless, even tho I played with different platforms (PET, Vectrex, Atari). I still consider myself a beginner willing to learn - C64 is so deep!! Cheers from Italy, ciao!

Great show guys, lots of details hidden in glitches and animated typography. Psycho's tempo and Sulevi's pixels are top notch. Elder0010, great effort for pushing all these 6502 mnemonics by hand, I know how hard and frustrating this can be. Especially that you started one C64 not so long ago. Thank you all! <3

PS I am waiting for Wacek's comment, this production seems to be right up his alley :D

lot of hard work, cliché screens, no effect stands out for me, design is all over the place, not one directional style.

This demo is so well designed and animated. Made by a small team which shows because it's very coherent both visually and with the soundtrack.

As usual awesome pixel work by Sulevi and an equally impressive soundtrack by psych858o. All this coded by one coder, Elder0010, making all the effects and motions flow smoothly.
Impressive work and very inspiring for me!

Great special effects. There are a few (human) errors too! Nice.
9 out of 10 stars, because some parts were too long, others too short, and in my opinion a dancing girl could be added here and there to enhance the part.
But overall, great work, guys!
