Description of issue

Hi, i can't find any Homebrew documentation on how to search for and install Fonts on Linux.
Could someone please enlighten me how to, for example:

1. search for the font Hack Nerd Font
2. search for a font using a wildcard (like Fira*)
3. install a font for the current user (Ubuntu)
4. install a font for all users (Ubuntu)

PS. i've seen that linux fonts are deprecated and fonts are now in homebrew cask. But i can't seem to find anything...)

Did you try the --cask flag? Since they're casks.

I think the default Cask search still requires having a copy of Tap rather than JSON API.

You could try description search (--desc) which supports JSON API, but this won't find tokens. It does find Cask names, e.g.

$ brew search --desc 'hack nerd font'
==> Formulae

==> Casks
font-hack-nerd-font: (Hack Nerd Font (Hack)) [no description]

$ brew search --desc '/Fira.*/'
==> Formulae

==> Casks
font-fira-code: (Fira Code) [no description]

Until brew search is improved, the website may be better for some cases: https://formulae.brew.sh/, e.g. Cask token search and fuzzy finding.

EDIT: Installation should be the same as anything else. Can see command on website:

https://formulae.brew.sh/cask/font-hack-nerd-font#default

The font is installed into $XDG_DATA_HOME/fonts; however, don't know how multi-user setup impacts this so someone else would need to answer that.
