The International FDO Forum will bring together:
- Infrastructure researchers, engineers and developers responsible for the design and implementation of the evolving domain of digital research artifacts,
- Information technology researchers, tool builders, and data/service providers, including those from industry, looking to both provide and exploit new infrastructural capabilities, change data management and processing practices, extend the Internet architecture, and design and deploy new semantic technologies,
- Research and Industrial data users who can describe use cases where the need for these new developments are critical in solving technical and societal challenges,
- Policy makers, funders, and leading thinkers who are guiding the future of the evolving Open Science and Open Data cultures.
The FDO Forum (FDOF) may include active sub-communities. In the case you want to register another FDO sub-community, please send an email using the contact form. We will present your sub-community on these web-pages.
FDO Community
Everyone interested in the FDOF work and its progress is welcome to register as part of the FDO community. They will be added to the email list which is currently including about 500 experts.
This community has an „official role“ within the FDOF, since members will:
- receive the bulletin and other notes about events
- be increasingly more involved in the organisation of the FDOF (for example: nominating SC members)
- be asked to comment on official documents
If you want to particpate in this FDO Community, please register here. We will not automatically transfer memberships between the sub-communities and the FDO community.
FDO DE Community
Based on funding streams via NFDI and the Mission KI program of the German federal goverment a German sub-community evolved over the last years which is actively exchanging information about ongoing project work and organising events that are related to FDOs. The list of experts currently includes about 100 experts. This sub-community does not have an „official role“ within the FDOF but is actively organising interactions and applying for project funding. The last project that was finished is the FDO One project. If you are affiliated with a German organisation it may make sense to register via the FDO One website to become part of that community.
