    Orange Data Mining

    Orange Data Mining

    Orange: Interactive data analysis

Open source machine learning and data visualization. Build data analysis workflows visually, with a large, diverse toolbox. Perform simple data analysis with clever data visualization. Explore statistical distributions, box plots and scatter plots, or dive deeper with decision trees, hierarchical clustering, heatmaps, MDS and linear projections. Even your multidimensional data can become sensible in 2D, especially with clever attribute ranking and selections. Interactive data exploration for rapid qualitative analysis with clean visualizations. Graphic user interface allows you to focus on exploratory data analysis instead of coding, while clever defaults make fast prototyping of a data analysis workflow extremely easy. Place widgets on the canvas, connect them, load your datasets and harvest the insight! When teaching data mining, we like to illustrate rather than only explain.

  • PRTG Catches Network Issues Before They Cause Downtime Icon
PRTG Catches Network Issues Before They Cause Downtime

Threshold-based alerts flag problems early, so your team can act before users notice, not after.

Reactive troubleshooting usually means hearing about a problem from frustrated users, not your monitoring tool. PRTG sets threshold-based alerts across devices, servers and applications, notifying your team by email, SMS or push the moment a metric crosses a set limit. That means catching a failing disk or overloaded server before it becomes an outage and getting time back from firefighting. Start a free trial and set your first alerts today.

    Minsky

    Minsky

System dynamics program with additional features for economics

Minsky brings system dynamics and monetary modelling to economics. Models are defined using flowcharts on a drawing canvas (as are Matlab's Simulink, Vensim, Stella, etc). Minsky's unique feature is the "Godley Table", which uses double entry bookkeeping to generate stock-flow consistent models of financial flows. Minsky is good for demonstrating mathematics too, with the most "math-like" interface in system dynamics. Sign up to Minsky's Patreon page (for as little as $1 a month) at https://www.patreon.com/Ravelation/. This creates a user community, which SourceForge doesn't facilitate.

    seaborn

    seaborn

    Statistical data visualization in Python

Seaborn is a Python data visualization library based on matplotlib. It provides a high-level interface for drawing attractive and informative statistical graphics. Seaborn helps you explore and understand your data. Its plotting functions operate on dataframes and arrays containing whole datasets and internally perform the necessary semantic mapping and statistical aggregation to produce informative plots. Its dataset-oriented, declarative API lets you focus on what the different elements of your plots mean, rather than on the details of how to draw them. Behind the scenes, seaborn uses matplotlib to draw its plots. For interactive work, it’s recommended to use a Jupyter/IPython interface in matplotlib mode, or else you’ll have to call matplotlib.pyplot.show() when you want to see the plot.

    Advanced Trigonometry Calculator

Open-source C/C++ math engine for advanced scientific computing

Advanced Trigonometry Calculator (ATC) is an open-source mathematical computing engine written mainly in C/C++. Created in 2011 and maintained by Renato Alexandre dos Santos Freitas, ATC is designed as a practical Windows desktop application for advanced calculations, automation, and technical problem solving. ATC supports equation solving, polynomial tools, complex numbers, matrix calculations, statistics, physics, geometry, unit conversions, DSP/FFT operations, and scripting. It can also process batch TXT files, making it useful for repeatable calculations and automated workflows. The project also includes ATC Online Alpha, a WebAssembly-based version that brings parts of the ATC engine to the web. ATC is released under the GPLv3 license and is made in Portugal.

    QUAST

    QUAST

Quality Assessment Tool for Genome Assemblies

QUAST performs fast and convenient quality evaluation and comparison of genome assemblies. It is maintained by the Gurevich lab at HIPS (https://helmholtz-hips.de/en/hmsb). For the most up-to-date description, please visit http://quast.sf.net. Below are just some highlights. QUAST computes several well-known metrics, including contig accuracy, the number of genes discovered, N50, and others, as well as introducing new ones, like NA50 (see details in the paper and manual). A comprehensive analysis results in summary tables (in plain text, tab-separated, and LaTeX formats) and colorful plots. The tool also produces web-based reports condensing all information in one easy-to-navigate file. QUAST and its three follow-up papers (MetaQUAST, Icarus, QUAST-LG) papers were published in Bioinformatics; the last paper (WebQUAST) is out in Nucl Acid Research.

    folium

    folium

    Python data, Leaflet.js maps

folium builds on the data wrangling strengths of the Python ecosystem and the mapping strengths of the leaflet.js library. Manipulate your data in Python, then visualize it in on a Leaflet map via folium. folium makes it easy to visualize data that’s been manipulated in Python on an interactive leaflet map. It enables both the binding of data to a map for choropleth visualizations as well as passing rich vector/raster/HTML visualizations as markers on the map. The library has a number of built-in tilesets from OpenStreetMap, Mapbox, and Stamen, and supports custom tilesets with Mapbox or Cloudmade API keys. folium supports both Image, Video, GeoJSON and TopoJSON overlays. To create a base map, simply pass your starting coordinates to Folium. To display it in a Jupyter notebook, simply ask for the object representation. The default tiles are set to OpenStreetMap, but Stamen Terrain, Stamen Toner, Mapbox Bright, and Mapbox Control Room, and many others tiles are built in.

    SMILI

    Scientific Visualisation Made Easy

The Simple Medical Imaging Library Interface (SMILI), pronounced 'smilie', is an open-source, light-weight and easy-to-use medical imaging viewer and library for all major operating systems. The main sMILX application features for viewing n-D images, vector images, DICOMs, anonymizing, shape analysis and models/surfaces with easy drag and drop functions. It also features a number of standard processing algorithms for smoothing, thresholding, masking etc. images and models, both with graphical user interfaces and/or via the command-line. See our YouTube channel for tutorial videos via the homepage. The applications are all built out of a uniform user-interface framework that provides a very high level (Qt) interface to powerful image processing and scientific visualisation algorithms from the Insight Toolkit (ITK) and Visualisation Toolkit (VTK). The framework allows one to build stand-alone medical imaging applications quickly and easily.

    Cookiecutter Data Science

    Cookiecutter Data Science

Project structure for doing and sharing data science work

A logical, reasonably standardized, but flexible project structure for doing and sharing data science work. When we think about data analysis, we often think just about the resulting reports, insights, or visualizations. While these end products are generally the main event, it's easy to focus on making the products look nice and ignore the quality of the code that generates them. Because these end products are created programmatically, code quality is still important! And we're not talking about bikeshedding the indentation aesthetics or pedantic formatting standards, ultimately, data science code quality is about correctness and reproducibility. It's no secret that good analyses are often the result of very scattershot and serendipitous explorations. Tentative experiments and rapidly testing approaches that might not work out are all part of the process for getting to the good stuff, and there is no magic bullet to turn data exploration into a simple, linear progression.
