    GitLab

    GitLab

Please open new issues in our issue tracker on GitLab

GitLab is a single-application DevOps platform that brings source control, CI/CD, package registries, security scanning, and deployment pipelines under one roof to accelerate software delivery. Built around Git repositories and merge-request workflows, it tightly integrates continuous integration, automated testing, code review, and release orchestration so teams can move from idea to production within a unified UI and policy model. GitLab’s features extend into the operational lifecycle—container registries, infrastructure as code, monitoring dashboards, and incident management—allowing platform teams to define guardrails and compliance as code across projects and groups. It supports extensive automation via pipelines, runners, webhooks, and a comprehensive REST/GraphQL API, enabling complex workflows like canary deployments, feature flagging, and security scanning as part of merge request gates.

    Gumroad

    Gumroad

Sell stuff and see what sticks

This repository contains the source code for Gumroad’s e-commerce platform, exposing how a modern creator-focused storefront and payments system is assembled. The app models products, variants, subscriptions, and checkout flows, then ties them to fulfillment, licensing, and customer communications. It implements typical marketplace concerns—order management, refunds, discounts, taxes, fraud checks, and analytics—through well-defined services and background jobs. The UI offers product pages, carts, and dashboards for creators to manage listings and see performance, while APIs/webhooks enable integrations with external sites and automation. The codebase demonstrates practical patterns for multi-tenant architecture, permissions, testing, and asynchronous processing at scale. For engineers, it’s both a working marketplace and a study in how to balance flexibility for creators with reliability in payments and delivery.

    Ruby

    Ruby

    Ruby programming language

A dynamic, open source programming language with a focus on simplicity and productivity. It has an elegant syntax that is natural to read and easy to write. Ruby is a language of careful balance. Its creator, Yukihiro “Matz” Matsumoto, blended parts of his favorite languages (Perl, Smalltalk, Eiffel, Ada, and Lisp) to form a new language that balanced functional programming with imperative programming. He has often said that he is “trying to make Ruby natural, not simple,” in a way that mirrors life. Since its public release in 1995, Ruby has drawn devoted coders worldwide. In 2006, Ruby achieved mass acceptance. With active user groups formed in the world’s major cities and Ruby-related conferences filled to capacity. Ruby-Talk, the primary mailing list for discussion of the Ruby language, climbed to an average of 200 messages per day in 2006. It has dropped in recent years as the size of the community pushed discussion from one central list into many smaller groups.

    Linguist

    Linguist

Detect blob languages, suppress generated files and generate graphs

This library is used on GitHub.com to detect blob languages, ignore binary or vendored files, suppress generated files in diffs, and generate language breakdown graphs. Linguist is a Ruby library so you will need a recent version of Ruby installed. There are known problems with the macOS/XCode supplied version of Ruby that causes problems installing some of the dependencies. Accordingly, we highly recommend you install a version of Ruby using Homebrew, rbenv, rvm, ruby-build, asdf or other packaging system, before attempting to install Linguist and the dependencies. Linguist uses charlock_holmes for character encoding and rugged for libgit2 bindings for Ruby. These components have their own dependencies. A repository's languages stats can also be assessed from the command line using the github-linguist executable. Without any options, github-linguist will output the breakdown that correlates to what is shown in the language stats bar.

Rake used as build tool. Tutorials at http://fortranxunit.wiki.sourceforge.net The core testing part is in FORTRAN, this part can be used independent of the Ruby codes. The Ruby code is to make fixtures and reports easier. Rake is to build the project elegantly. This project also demonstrate a new way to build mixed language code in an alternative way than Make. Most of the FORTRAN are important in nature, used in nuclear and aerospace codes, etc, and maintained and written actively. Please help to bring TDD practices to the FORTRAN community. The change could be very hard, personally, I quit, since I could not make the change. I hope your organization will be successful. Enjoy a cup of fruit while maintaining FORTRAN ! Cuprite

    Cuprite

    Headless Chrome/Chromium driver for Capybara

Cuprite is a Ruby driver for the Capybara testing framework that allows developers to automate browsers using the Chrome DevTools Protocol instead of traditional WebDriver-based tools. It is built on top of the Ferrum library and provides a modern approach to browser automation that removes the need for Selenium or external browser drivers. By communicating directly with Chromium-based browsers through the DevTools protocol, Cuprite enables faster and more reliable browser automation for testing and scraping tasks. The driver integrates seamlessly with Capybara, allowing developers to write feature tests that simulate real user interactions with web applications. Because it uses headless Chrome by default, Cuprite is well suited for automated test environments and continuous integration pipelines. Developers can also run tests with a visible browser window for debugging purposes during development.

    Ferrum

    Ferrum

    Headless Chrome Ruby API

Ferrum is a Ruby library that provides a high-level API for controlling Chrome or Chromium browsers using the Chrome DevTools Protocol. The project allows developers to automate browser interactions directly without relying on Selenium, WebDriver, or external drivers, which simplifies browser automation workflows. Ferrum runs in headless mode by default but can also be configured to run with a visible browser window for debugging and development purposes. The library communicates directly with Chrome through the DevTools Protocol, providing access to advanced browser functionality such as DOM manipulation, network inspection, and page automation. Because of this low-level access, Ferrum offers greater flexibility and performance compared to traditional WebDriver-based automation tools. It is commonly used for tasks such as web scraping, automated testing, crawling, and screenshot or PDF generation.

    Resque

    Resque

Ruby library for creating background jobs and processing them

Resque is a Redis-backed Ruby library for creating background jobs, placing them on multiple queues, and processing them later. Resque (pronounced like "rescue") is a Redis-backed library for creating background jobs, placing those jobs on multiple queues, and processing them later. Background jobs can be any Ruby class or module that responds to perform. Your existing classes can easily be converted to background jobs or you can create new classes specifically to do work. Or, you can do both. Resque is heavily inspired by DelayedJob (which rocks) and comprises three parts, a Ruby library for creating, querying, and processing jobs, a Rake task for starting a worker which processes jobs, a Sinatra app for monitoring queues, jobs, and workers. Resque workers can be distributed between multiple machines, support priorities, are resilient to memory bloat / "leaks," are optimized for REE (but work on MRI and JRuby), tell you what they're doing, and expect failure.

    RuboCop

    RuboCop

A Ruby static code analyzer and formatter, based on the community Ruby

RuboCop is a Ruby static code analyzer (a.k.a. linter) and code formatter. Out of the box it will enforce many of the guidelines outlined in the community Ruby Style Guide. RuboCop packs a lot of features on top of what you’d normally expect from a linter. Works with every major Ruby implementation. Autocorrection of many of the code offenses it detects. Robust code formatting capabilities. Multiple result for matters for both interactive use and for feeding data into other tools. Ability to have different configurations for different parts of your codebase. Ability to disable certain cops only for specific files or parts of files. Extremely flexible configuration that allows you to adapt RuboCop to pretty much every style and preference. It’s easy to extend RuboCop with custom cops and formatters. Many online services use RuboCop internally (e.g. HoundCI, Sider and CodeClimate).

    RuboCop Rails

    RuboCop Rails

A RuboCop extension focused on enforcing Rails best practices

A RuboCop extension focused on enforcing Rails best practices and coding conventions. It’s based on the community-driven Rails style guide. You need to tell RuboCop to load the Rails extension. Now you can run rubocop and it will automatically load the RuboCop Rails cops together with the standard cops. If you are using Rails 6.1 or newer, add the following config.generators.after_generate setting to your config/application.rb to apply RuboCop autocorrection to code generated by bin/rails g. It uses rubocop -A to apply Style/FrozenStringLiteralComment and other unsafe autocorretion cops. rubocop -A is unsafe autocorrection, but code generated by default is simple and less likely to be incompatible with rubocop -A. If you have problems you can replace it with rubocop -a instead.
